Author Adam Watt

Adam Watt is a Self-Published author of Science Fiction. I had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. Watt. Thank you for allowing me the honor. I asked  Adam a few questions, which he was kind enought to answer.

Q: What made you choose to go Self-Publish or Independent route?

I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and the will and strive for success. I wanted the challenge of becoming a self-published, and independent author.

Q: How many books have you had published?

Three in total. (Two are gone though)

Q: What is your favorite genre?

Science Fiction

Q: Other genres you like

Paranormal, urban fantasy, and dark fiction

Q: Please state where your book(s) are currently available

Q: What inspires you as a writer?

Stories from the many Star Wars books, and ideas and concepts in theoretical physics, as well as astrobiology, allow me to create realistic and fantastical stories and worlds.

Q: What made you become a writer?

I discovered when I was five years old that I loved making up stories. Even then, I had a very creative mind. When I learned how to write a sentence, I finally had an outlet for my creativity, and so I started jotting down ideas, then stories. In Junior high, I wrote my first short story, called Black Wing: Arms of Justice. It's funny, just before I started writing, I asked the teacher how many pages I could write. She limited me to nine, and I felt myself wanting to write more than that, but I accepted the page limit, and by the time the story was finished and it was time to read it, I was glowing with pride. That pride was met with satisfaction when everyone in the room started clapping with their jaws dropped to the floor. It was a wonderful experience, and this is what made me want to write books.

Q: Do you have a favorite Author?

Kevin J. Anderson

Q: Tell us a little about yourself

Far, far way, once upon a time, as a boy, I awoke from a fantastic dream… Flying through the galaxy on a speeder, I drew new stars; New worlds and stories. Soon the white pages were filled with text, and the thrill and excitement flew through my veins like a fast moving river flows to the ocean. I awoke with a smile, and a tingly feeling overcame me. I knew what I wanted to be; to do. I wanted to write the stories of my dreams and more. I began writing stories at age five, and soon my dreams were flowing onto paper. My first story was about an unusual hero who was the size of a hummingbird after shouting "Power of the free donuts! Super Shrink Me!" He would then often fly through donuts while he went on his way to save the people of the fictional land of Tuna Casserolia. As I began to write more my stories got funnier, and as I experienced life and my tastes grew, my stories became more epic. During my high school creative writing assignment as the teacher read my story the audience was astonished. With loud clapping, I received recognition of writing the most engaging story, and thus I won an award. It was a day that I will always cherish. The day when I realized, my writing could touch the hearts of others and inspire people to be more awesome, than they know themselves to be. Words have power, and with great power comes great awesomeness, and with great awesomeness comes giant smiles!

Q: Name your most successful book

The Rebirth Future of Destruction

Q: What made this book more successful than the others?

My cover for The Rebirth Future of Destruction was designed by a professional and looks awesome. I feel that this was a major awesome success builder.

Q: Is there one book you enjoyed writing more than the others?

The Rebirth Future of Destruction

Q: Are you working on something new?

The Reborn Shades of Apocalypse

Q: If so, tell us about it.

The Reborn takes place right after the events of the first book. The protagonist and his small group of friends survived the apocalypse and found themselves displaced to a parallel reality in the result of a catastrophic event. They find themselves in a seeming paradise, but they find out that the Paradise is a nightmare in of itself.

Q: What can we expect from you in the future?

I intend to be writing more books and having fun while doing it!

Q: How long does it take you to write a novel?

It takes me about one month to write a novella.

Q: How do you attract sales to your books?

Through Twitter, Facebook, my website and email list

Q: What advice can you give to aspiring authors?

Don't give up, write to write, love to write, be confidant and above all have fun!
