Listening to your parents is hard work. As a teenager, you're always right, of course, but to them everything you do comes up short. Kana is nearing the end of her teenage years and is already a young woman. With no career prospects, no goals in life, she just can't seem to attain her family's expectations.

On her nineteenth birthday, an accident caused by her own shortcomings launches a domino effect of chaos turning her life from boring and mundane to terrifying and supernatural. Kidnapped by a vampire and her chauffeur, she ends up the hostage of a host of strange creatures: Chloe, a mild mannered Cajun vampire. Vincent, a Welsh werewolf with a penchant for piracy and a history of drug abuse. Gabriella, a Spanish immortal with a fiery temper, and her daughter, a shape-shifter. Will she finally find her way back home to her family? Or is family more than blood and kin?

5.0 out of 5 starsLovely book and well written, got sucked straight in.

By Josh Vella

I'm truly blessed to know the author because I may have not heard of this book for sometime and boy was I glad that I took the opportunity to support a friend. A few chapters in and I was hooked and didn't want to put it down. If you happen across this book by chance or have it recommended to you then I implore you to snatch up this book to read it, even before I read the final page I knew I already wanted the next book which only multiplied by the time I finished the final sentence.

I was entranced from the first sentence of this book, I am very close to finishing and am looking forward to the next in the installment, the author is a close friend of mine and I am amazed by the in-depth description of the characters, as well as the insight into the histories and backstories involved around them. I was enthralled to learn how each character came about their various roles and powers, and the secrets of their past, some of the language is salty but used in good taste, and I would 100% recommend this book to young adult readers, especially those with a love of mystery and a little bit of horror and gore. I love how certain relationships unfurl as the story unfolds, and the only reason I have put it down is so I can have more to read later.
